Fear, uncertainty, and being holed up at home to slow the spread of COVID-19 can make it tough for families to keep a sense of calm. But it’s important to help kids feel safe, keep healthy routines, manage their behavior and build resilience.

Here are few things I have been following with #lilshiven .

1. Plan (a little) & Play A Lot

Children benefit from being able to predict small things and having some control. If you’re into making a daily schedule — great — but it might not work as kids are driven by moods and choices .

2. Get down to their level and Be a Part Of Their Fantasy World

▪️Getting in multiple chunks of high-quality playtime throughout the day can help kids manage their emotions and behaviour, build cognitive skills and support parent-child bonds.

▪️It’s easier to participate when you are sitting on the floor and can give play with full attention ( NO PHONES PLEASE ) . If you’re having a hard time being distracted, try being over-the-top with silly voices, jumping jacks or getting messy. Imaginative play can be a welcome escape for adults too ( I love being a patient driven to hospital in an ambulance 🙈 )3.  Water Play And Sunset View are Bharamasthra

Adding water play or fresh air or sunset view with music is a good solution to many stressful situations with kids.

4. Take a step back

Moms are overloaded with work so Pay attention to what your body feels like or your thoughts sound like right before you  REACT. If you can step away from an escalating situation ( u know what I mean ), chances are you’ll have a more pleasant day.

▪️Identify what you might do to take a break — hand off parenting to the partner ( Mr Husband in action ) possible, splash cold water on your face or take in a breath of fresh air.

🔆 Even five deep breaths and reminding yourself about your love for your kiddo can provide the space you need to tackle the situation with a clear(er) peaceful Mind .

5. Be generous with affection

Across all Human and species, physical comfort is a powerful way to manage stressful moments . EXTRA HUGS & OVER DOSE OF KISSES will work all the time .

6. Healthy homecooked food , juices and smoothies are instant mood charger so keep that coming in variety with love

7.  It’s ok if routines are turning around and kid doesn’t want to sit and study . Learning comes from many walks to life . Most significant part is to keep the kid HAPPY & HEALTHY.

▪️ITS OK IF NOTHING ABOVE IS WORKING OUT ON ONE GIVEN DAY .

IT NORMAL if a Day SEEMS NOT NORMAL and PLANNED .

-A NEW DAY WILL COME & THIS SHALL PASS !!
